About MCCI

MCCI is a coalition of various city, business and community interests committed to reversing the decline of Meriden's central core and stimulating sustained economic growth. As a response to the failure of various ideas to gain momentum in achieving this very goal, the group decided to commission the development of a Comprehensive Master Plan designed to best achieve this goal. The approach involved studying the current issues impacting the City Center; understanding the proposed projects within the City Center and identify the most probable and realistic opportunities for sustained growth. The Master Plan is intended to be an initial concept of a "Road Map" that the City can follow to achieve long term, sustained growth in its central core resulting in increased economic returns in the form of tax dollars, job growth and increased quality of life for the entire community.

It is the purpose of this website to disseminate information regarding the Meriden City Center Initiative to members of the community and the general public. Where noted, information included within this site is excerpted from "Meriden City Center Initiative - A Comprehensive Plan for Revitalization" prepared by BL Companies (released 07/24/2002. All rights reserved.). 

This website does not contain the complete Meriden City Center Initiative report. Complete and unabridged hard copies of the City Center Initiative study are available for review at the Meriden Public Library and Meriden's City Hall and are available during normal business hours.
