Environmental Impact Analysis

As part of the Phase II Scope of Work, a Preliminary Environmental Assessment* (PEA) of a study area comprising approximately 43.9-acres within the downtown section of the City of Meriden, has been performed.  The study area was derived from a list of potentially impacted properties developed during the design of the original Masterplan.  Not all parcels included in the study area and discussed in this Section are critical to the development of the Meriden Green and Commercial Center.

*The scope of work for the PEA is based on standard and routinely accepted practices of the environmental profession and is generally consistent with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Designation E-1527-00, “Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments:  Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process”, and the contract between BL Companies and MERG.  However, the work described herein does not meet the standards to be considered a complete ASTM Designation E-1527-00 Phase I ESA, primarily due to the fact that detailed property inspections and interviews with owners and/or tenants were not completed.
